Kris , a former member of DSMT and pupil at Morgan Academy, went on to study Drama in Edinburgh and followed this with a post graduate teaching course. He is currently teching Drama at St John's RC High School. Kris has worked with several local amateur societies both on the stage and as director. His latest production was as director of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels at the Byre Theatre in St Andrews.
Ian has studied music from the age of four and works as a freelance Musical Director, keyboard player and arranger.
He has been Musical Director for many of Apex Productions' shows and regularly plays keyboard in performances throughout the area. Ian has also played keyboards for The Phantom of the Opera at Edinburgh Playhouse, the Scottish tour of Evita and numerous musicals at Perth Theatre under Musical Director John Scrimgeour.
Richard Waghorn studied piano at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland under world-renowned pianist Fali Pavri. His involvement with Dundee Schools Music Theatre began in 2000 when the group was asked to perform as part of the Millenium Show inside the Millenium Dome.
Richard leads a very busy musical life, working regularly on many shows throughout Scotland, both professional and amateur. In 2005 he became Musical Director of the award-winning RCS Pantomime and was thrilled to work on the production again in 2006. Each year, he presents a masterclass on vocal technique to thespians from throughout the country at the National Operatic and Dramatic Association's annual conference. Richard also enjoys a busy teaching schedule and tutors piano and singing as well as being Faculty Head (Expressive Arts) at Perth Academy,
Richard is a much sought-after orchestrator and arranger and has worked in this capacity for numerous artists. He is an accomplished singer and has numerous performance credits to his name in both musical theatre and opera.
He also spends time touring & recording with the successful celtic-rock band,"Celtic Rouge".
Lina Waghorn - Producer & DSMT Manager
Lina Waghorn is Dundee Schools Music Theatre's creator. The project has grown from strength to strength under her capable leadership and continues to grow and develop each year. Lina has produced every DSMT show, co-ordinating the many aspects of each productionand ensuring a slick and professional end product. She is no stranger to the stage having appeared as a Singer-Mover in every production of Sounds Spectacular, the sell-out revue show. In 2007, Lina took over the role of Producer for Sounds Spectacular's re-launch.
Glen McArtney- Choreographer
Glen joined DSMT for the production of Jesus Christ Superstar in 2008. The experience he had with DSMT inspired him to go on to study dance at Dundee and Angus College. He is currently employed by Dundee City Council as a Dance Development Officer and is also completing a post graduate course at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland. In addition to his choreography work, Glen is a regular dancer in the Rock the Halls events at the Whitehall Theatre.
Samantha Brown - Assistant Director & Choreograpgher
Sam joined DSMT as a pupil from St John's High School in 2003. She performed in her first of many DSMT productions in August 2004. From there Sam became a great lover of Musical Theatre and started to grow a passion for dance and choreography. Sam has been working with DSMT by assisting Kenny in the direction and choreography of shows since 2011.
Sam currently works in a Primary School in Dundee City Council and is going on to study futher in Childhood Practice and Early Education at Dundee University. Sam is currently on maternity leave.
Rebecca Waghorn - Choreographer
A former member of DSMT and former pupil at Craigie High School, Rebecca is often to be seen performing on stage with local musical societies. She studied Dance at Dundee and Angus College and in addition to her work with DSMT, choreographs Downfield Musical Society's Youth Group productions. Rebecca works in a Dundee City Council Nursery.
